“Incredible dance holiday in Cali, Colombia! – [My guide], was excellent not only as a driver/guide, but also as a chaperon in all of the night clubs. [My teacher] is a fantastic teacher of salsa and I learned a tremendous amount of new moves and sequences. [My accommodation] was excellent. The staff are all extremely friendly and take an interest in their guests beyond the usual obligations of their duties. Through all [of the people involved in my trip], I was able to gain quite a substantial idea about life in Cali and Colombia. I liked the lush countryside and the waterfalls. The market in Cali with exotic fruits is unforgettable. San Antonio barrio was very pleasant. It was a wonderful week in Colombia, I fell in love with the country!” (AT, England, Jan 2017)

This one week trip is available all year round and is an ideal way to learn to dance in Cali.  Your private lessons focus on some of the  most popular Latin dance styles, including Salsa, merengue and chachacha and there is the option to join in with other group dance lessons depending on your interest and energy levels!  The package is designed for solo travellers, with single room accommodation, individual dance lessons and accompanied nights out with a local guide or dance partner all organised in advance.

Professional dance tutors will teach you at your own pace, as the classes provide one to one individual tuition, and the focus of the class will depend on which dance(s) you particularly want to learn.  The trip can be amended on request to include additional dance classes or trips, but is only available for a minimum period of 1 week (7  nights). The  best day to arrive for this trip is Sunday but if you arrive on Saturday we can book extra accommodation for you.

Please note that there may be limited availability at peak times of the year such as the annual Cali Salsa Festival in September, a huge event which sees dancers from all over the world competing over several days, and the Feria de Cali in late December. The Feria de Cali is more of a carnival event and is showcase for Cali’s many salsa schools, with live bands and street parades.

We can help you to explore other areas of Colombia too.  Have a look at our optional extended tour ‘Highlights of Colombia’

Highlights of Colombia

“I had a fabulous time and was very impressed with the country – probably the friendliest I have been to. Teaching was very good. I can’t speak highly enough of [my guide] who regularly went the extra mile (or 2) to make sure I had the complete experience” (GH, England, Sep 2016)
