Chamonix is situated in the heart of the French Alps on the border of France, Switzerland and Italy. Surrounded by towering peaks and enormous glaciers, the picturesque town is adjacent to the highest mountain in Europe, Mont Blanc, and provides world class ski slopes for skiers and snowboarders of all levels as well as opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, climbing and paragliding throughout the summer. The population of the town is just 14,000 though this increases in both winter and summer seasons.  The atmosphere is friendly and lively with a large number of bars, cafes and restaurants and a fun night life.

“I loved the trip. The thing I enjoyed the most was that while I attended the college I still got to do plenty of snowboarding in my free time. I found that Caledonia provided me with all the essential information that I needed prior to my departure, and I also felt that the company itself was very easy to contact. The school had a good location, within walking distance of our flat and central Chamonix. The facilities were also great, including projectors on which presentations were shown. The French lessons were great, good organisation and really helpful, friendly teacher. Excursions and activities were always on offer by the school, these were great and good to get to know our classmates better. The accommodation was perfect, a good bedroom area as you walk in with bunkbeds, and then bathroom, toilet and kitchen (with sofa and TV). I have always wanted to visit Chamonix and snowboard there and would love to go back again!”
