Rouen is the capital of Normandy, with a population of around 110,000. It is a thriving city with a rich historic past and there is plenty to see and do all year round. Our school has just moved to new premises near Rouen’s Botanic gardens and provides a friendly learning environment in an award winning family run language school.

French language lessons in closed groups are complemented by a range of interesting cultural activities in and around the city, including a full day to Paris.

A sample group itinerary can be found below.

“Thank you for all your help in planning our most recent visit to Rouen. It was great – so well-organised. The families were the best we have ever had and the Macaron workshop was the highlight of the week”

ESF, Jersey College. March 2015

Rouen has been a very popular location for our French school group trips over the years, and for many reasons. The city itself is small enough to explore on foot and its medieval centre and historic connections offer a fascinating insight into European history.  Our school is a family owned and managed language centre which is located opposite the extensive Rouen botanical gardens, and has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

There are 12 spacious classrooms, all with disabled access, a resource centre with 30 computers for student use as well as free wife. There are plenty of cafes and shops nearby, a sporting facilities such as pétanque, table tennis and basketball in the botanical gardens.

“Jersey College for Girls has been using Caledonia for around 20 years to help organise our essential homestay language trips. We value the expertise of their team and they are always communicative and a pleasure to work with. Our homestay trip to Rouen has become an iconic feature in our school’s calendar and our GCSE and A Level students are always excited to sign up. We can see the amazing impacts on our students’ motivation as it fosters their love for the French language and culture.

Caledonia help us to organise the homestay families, trip itinerary and language lessons for the week. We know that they aid us in guaranteeing the quality of all of these things. Caledonia’s friendly and proactive approach mean that they are a pleasure to work with and we would recommend them wholeheartedly. We also use Caledonia to help us plan our Spanish and Italian trips which are equally resounding successes amongst our students.”
