MANANA festival in Cuba

Reading Time: 2 minutes

We are delighted to have been appointed as the official travel partner for the forthcoming MANANA festival in Cuba, on 4/5/6 May 2016. The festival, based in the tropical city of Santiago de Cuba, will bring together, for the first time ever, the best exponents of Afro-Cuban music in Cuba and top international electronic music performers. This exciting 3 day event will showcase musicians and DJs in collaborative projects and will also provide an opportunity for ticket holders to participate in special local community events.

In recent weeks, the MANANA podcast series has been launched which now includes mixes by seminal Warp Records electronica act Plaid, Tijuana House duo Soul of Hex, KCRW tastemaker Jeremy Sole, Puerto Rican breakthrough band IFE and the latest addition – underground UK Techno duo Phrased.

To date over 250 international tickets have been sold to the festival and it has also attracted sponsorship from NYC’s legendary Fania Records and Havana Club’s window into contemporary Cuban creativity, Havana Cultura.

Travel and accommodation packages are being confirmed as I write, with MANANA festival shuttle bus transport from Havana to Santiago and accommodation in local homestays or hotels to be announced very soon.  MANANA workshops will include percussion and drumming sessions with local professional musicians and tutors, and trips to places of musical interest in and near the city.

If you would like to support this incredible musical venture, don’t miss out on the next release of festival tickets going on sale next week via the MANANA kickstarter page.  For more details about the festival itineraries, click on this link to our website.

See you in Santiago in May 2016!
